Depending on your World of Warcraft configuration, you may have problems with the default Assist and Follow functions not working properly. This guide will help you find and correct problems where certain characters will not seem to follow others, or when playing a certain character, others will not follow.
First, a quick lesson on how this works, to help you understand the problem. The Quick Setup Wizard sets up binds in WoW, so that when you press the "Follow Me" key (Alt+F by default) for example, a different set of modifiers (Shift,Alt,Ctrl) gets pressed along with another key in order to follow the right character. The key it happens to be pressing for you by default when you hit Alt+F is F11, and so it might be actually hitting Shift+F11 to make the others follow the first character, Ctrl+F11 for the second character, and so on. Each Slot in your Character Set is configured with a specific set of modifiers, so the same thing happens for Assist -- it might hit Shift+Backspace for the first character, Ctrl+Backspace for the second, and so on.
The problem, therefore, generally comes from one or more characters having a Key Binding in World of Warcraft that overrides one of those combinations. If a character has a Key Binding set to Shift+F11, this will conflict with the default Follow key when used from the character in Slot 1. If you have changed the Key Combination (which does not have to match the Hotkey you press to activate it, and does not by default), make sure you did not add a modifier to the Key Combination.
There are 4 methods of attacking this problem:
- Check for, and remove or change, any Key Bindings in World of Warcraft that use modifiers with F11 or Backspace (if you changed the Key Combination used by FTL Follow Me or FTL Assist Me, look for that instead of F11 or Backspace). The default WoW key bindings do not have conflicting binds, so one easy way to do this is to go into the World of Warcraft Key Bindings menu (in the game) and click the Reset button to restore defaults.
- If other characters will not follow (or assist) one specific character, try changing that specific character's FTL Modifiers, which are set in your Character Set. Make sure the selected modifiers don't match those of another slot in the same Character Set, and don't check both left and right of any modifier.
- If one specific character will not follow (or assist) other characters at all, try changing the Key Combination for the FTL Follow Me (for follow) or FTL Assist Me (for assist) keys. The Key Combination is set in the Action in Step 1, not the Hotkey for the Mapped Key.
- If when you Export to Inner Space, ISBoxer pops up a box about the game having the wrong account name, you are probably logging into the wrong account in the wrong window. The correct account name should be selected in the drop-down box at the WoW login screen. If WoW pops up the account list when you attempt to log in, you will need to select that same account! Note: If you are using a Trial account for WoW, you may need to correct the account name for your Character in ISBoxer
